Gypsum resident Mrs. Ida Gagel, 88, died May 1 at the Glen Valley Nursing Home. She was a resident of Gypsum for 33 years. She was born Ida Kunz on March 25, 1885 in Germany. She spent her childhood in Germany, and married Benjamin C. Gagel in Golden, Colorado in 1918. Mr. Gagel died in Glenwood Springs on April 7, 1967. Mrs. Gagel moved from Germany to Silverton, Colorado at the age of 18. She also lived in Denver before moving to Gypsum in 1939. A son, Arthur F. Gagel, survives. Funeral services were held Thursday May 3 at the Gypsum Methodist Church. Burial was in Gypsum.
