Gwendolyn Isabell Taylor

27, 2016.
She was born on November
27, 1931, in Ogden, Utah; the
eldest child of Carlton and
Olive Hunt. Gwen grew up in
Grand Junction, Colorado. In
October of 1952 she married
Louis Albert Taylor. They traveled extensively during Louis’s
military career, residing in Colorado, Wisconsin, Missouri, and
Germany before settling in Grand Junction.
Gwen was an active community and church member, teaching
Sunday school, leading Girl Scout Troops and serving on the
board of the American Red Cross. She was employed for many
years as a customer service agent for Public Service Company
of Colorado (Xcel Energy), and following her retirement,
worked as a driver for Avis Rent-A-Car. Gwen was a devout
Christian and attended New Life Church in Grand Junction. She
will be remembered as being loving, kind, giving, generous and
gracious. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends. As
a tribute to her mother, Olive, she wrote a book, "The Unbroken
Bundle" which was published in the spring of 2016. Gwen
loved to play card games, especially with her long-time bridge
group. As a final act of generosity Gwen had her body donated
to scientific research.
She is survived by daughters, Karen (Ron) Miracle, of Grand
Junction, and Lynn (Robert) Emerson of Las Vegas, Nevada;
brothers, Seth (Carol) Hunt of Denver; Arnold (Annamarie)
Hunt and Don (Janet) Hunt of California; Corky (Marilyn)
Hunt, Ken (Kim) Hunt and David (Sherri) Hunt of Grand
Junction; sisters, Carlene (Leonard) Kaiser of Grand Junction,
and Sharon (Wayne) Spani of California, and a very special
sister-in-law, Lela Hunt of Grand Junction; six grandchildren,
Matthew Kendall, Zacharia (Manny) Miracle, Zebulon (Jessica)
Miracle, J. Tim Young, Jessica Young and Joanna Young; greatgrandchildren,
Kylee Young, Alexander, Nathaniel and Xanthus
Miracle. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eva
Mae Hunt; brother, Floyd Hunt; daughter, Kathleen Kendall,
and grandson, Stephen Kendall.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016,
at 1:30 p.m. at the New Life Church, 1350 N. 7th Street.
Graveside services will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery,
2970 North Avenue, Grand Junction.
