Dorothy Lee Beck was born
to Mirma and Myrtle Wallace
on June 11, 1923, in
Briceville, Tennessee. She
was the second oldest of ten
children.
She married Harold Beck on
January 24, 1942. After 45
years of marriage, Hal went to
be with the Lord. They had
three children and lived in
many states throughout the eastern US before settling in Grand
Junction, Colorado.
Dorothy "Dot" or "Mammaw" loved Jesus and shared His love
with many people. She served as a volunteer in schools, on
church boards, as a Deaconess, a Sunday school teacher, and
more. She loved her years as a hostess at the Peach Tree
Restaurant on North Avenue. Dot ministered to countless souls
during her lifetime, visiting with anyone, anywhere. She always
had a smile and a kind word of encouragement. She will be truly
missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her children, Jan Larson of Grand Junction;
Tom Beck of Ripon, California, and David Beck of Grand
Junction. She had 12 grandchildren and their spouses and 30
great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers and three
sisters who reside in the eastern US.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life service at Victory Life
Church on Thursday, December 8 at 10:30 a.m. We kindly ask
that you wear Mammaw’s favorite colors, either red or purple.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made at Grand
Valley Funeral Home.
