Carl Wayne Crawford passed away peacefully at his home in Edwards with his wife, Becky, at his side, on Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was 67.

Carl was born on June 13, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Coy and Minna Crawford. He graduated from Penn Morton College in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science. He served in the Air Force National Guard from 1970-1980. He earned his Masters of Business Administration degree from The University of Dallas in 1988. He moved to Plano, Texas, in 1983 where he worked in telecommunications and was a director at IEX Corporation. He also continued his telecommunication work in 2007 consulting with ERA, Expense Reduction Analysts, for the remainder of his career. He raised his two children in Plano and introduced them to travel, the love of adventure and snow skiing in the mountains of Colorado. In 1998, he met Becky and they were married in May of 2000 in St. Thomas. Becky and Carl continued to live in Plano where they continued to raise their respective families. Lindsay and Jared on Carl's side and Becky's son Reed were a significant part of their lives in Plano. They traveled together and continued to be supportive parents. In 2014, Carl and Becky left Plano and moved to Edwards. It was a dream of both of theirs to enjoy the mountain lifestyle and create a home to enjoy the high country living.

Carl was a loving husband and devoted father. An avid do-it-yourselfer he loved working around the house on projects to personalize their home. He also enjoyed traveling, hiking, biking, skiing, scuba diving, landscaping and he had a passion for cooking. Carl and Becky's passion for adventure and travel created many cherished memories of their lives together. They made many friends in the Vail Valley and found their volunteer activities rewarding including Bravo! Vail, Vilar Performing Arts Center and GoPro Mountain Games. Carl will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His good natured generosity was contagious to those around him. His love of life, curiosity of how things worked created a fulfilling life of love and admiration.

Carl is survived by his wife, Becky Crawford, of Edwards, daughter Dr. Lindsay Crawford Suber and her husband Donald, a grandson due to arrive around June 5 in Houston, Texas; his son Jared Crawford of Dallas, Texas, brother Coy Crawford and his wife Lucy of Treverton, Pennsylvania; in addition to his sisters April and Sarah Crawford.
