Victor Raymond Gher, 47, died Oct. 21, 1945, in a Glenwood hospital from pneumonia, following a heart attack suffered two weeks previous.

The son of Charles and Elizabeth Gher, he was born in Lawrenceville, Ill., where he grew to man hood. He went to Casper, Wyo., where he was employed by a refinery company for ten years. There in 1921, he was married to Violet Eshelman, daughter of Stephen F. and Elizabeth Eshelman, his childhood sweetheart. The couple moved from Wyoming to Texas, where Mr. Gher was employed by the Phillips Petroleum company until July of this year, when Mr. and Mrs. Gher bot the Fred Dice ranch on Brush creek near Eagle.

Surviving are his widow; a sister, Stella Jerauld of East Sparta, Ohio; a nephew, Pfc. Charles Grell of the armed services; two nieces, Frances and Louise Grell, of East Sparta, Ohio, the children of a deceased sister. The mother-in-;aw also survives and has made her home with the Ghers for a number of years.

The deceased was a member of the Methodist church of Lawrenceville.

Those attending the funeral services from a distance were Stella Jerauld, the sister; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edith Ross of Suffolk, Va.; a niece, Mrs. Marion Ross Hamill and daughter, Sandra, of McCallen, Tex.; Mr. and Mrs. P.W. Cullen of Hobbs, N.M., and Mr. P.R. Eland of Denver, close friends. A niece, Vondaline Shill, of Bridgeport, Ill., was unable to be present.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., from the Methodist church in Eagle, conducted by Rev. Paul Shields. Pallbearers were Hans Larsen, Charles Eaton, Al Boynton, Cyrus Dice, John Van Horn, Wm. Schlutter. Music was furnished by Mrs. Paul Shields accompanying Wm. Stanley, Chester Mayer, Ida Dickerson and Marion Stanley. Burial was made in the Eagle cemetery in charge of the Andre Mortuary.
