Jack Whiteside passed away
November 26, 2016, at the
HopeWest Hospice Care
Center in Grand Junction, CO,
after a brief illness.
He was born in Thayer, KS,
on February 5, 1929, to Ernest
and Viva Whiteside. He met
Barbara Sherman in Wichita,
KS, in 1948; they married in
1950.
Jack was a United States Marine Corp veteran, a member of
the Masonic Lodge and Shriners, and a 30-year member of the
Greeley Country Club. He was a commercial and residential
General Contractor for over 60 years in Kansas, Arkansas,
California, and Colorado.
Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, waterskiing, and was
an avid golfer. Jack’s greatest source of pride and enjoyment
was his family, and he was a loyal friend to many.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara of Grand
Junction; daughter, Sherma (Charles) Castle of Colorado
Springs; son, Steve Whiteside of Hayden, CO, and daughter,
Jacque Whiteside of Grand Junction. He is also survived by
grandchildren, Leland (Jenni) Reinier and Jake Reinier of Craig,
CO; Colton Whiteside of Hayden, CO; Meagen (Matt) Hoffman
of Craig, CO, and great-grandchildren, Rainey and Ridge
Reinier, Cheyenne Reinier, and Mason and Wyatt Hoffman.
Memorial services are planned for a later date at his son,
Steve’s, ranch.

Grand Junction.

He was a general contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara L.; one son, Steve of
Hayden; two daughters, Sherma Castle of Colorado Springs and
Jacque Whiteside of Grand Junction; four grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
