John F. Richmond, 86, Grand Junction, died Sept. 23, 2016, at
his home.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Veterans Memorial
Cemetery of Western Colorado.
He was a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife, Anamae; three sons, Randall, Andrew,
and John Jr., all of Grand Junction; two daughters, Christine
Richmond Gallegos of Grand Junction, and Rebecca Richmond of
Arvada; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

John "Jack" Francis
Richmond, 86, passed away
September 23, 2016. He was
born July 11, 1930, to Reuben
and Grace Richmond in
Mount Ayr, Iowa.
Jack attended Bear Creek
High School in Indian Hills,
Colorado, and then served in
the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean Conflict. He was a heavy
equipment operator and mechanic for highway construction and
dam projects, and also worked for Trappers Mine in Craig,
Colorado. He joined the International Union of Operating
Engineers, Colorado, Local #9 on October 2, 1952. He was a
member for almost 64 years.
Jack has loved Fords and drag racing for more than 45 years.
He has built race cars and participated in racing with his sons,
eventually collecting a few antique cars and being a member of
Wheels West Car Club.
He married Anamae Dagenhart in 1956, in Kremmling,
Colorado. They have five children, Randall, Christine, Andrew,
Rebecca, John Jr. He is also survived by six grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Evelyn Fitzer, Kathryn
Patton, and Leon Bell Jr.
Visitation will be at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on Wednesday,
September 28, from 5 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held
on Thursday, September 29, at 10:30 a.m. also at Callahan-
Edfast. Burial will be a Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1:00
p.m. sharp.
