Catherine J. Hurni, 67, Grand Junction, died Nov. 11, 2016, at
HopeWest and Hospice Care Center.
Services will take place at 4 p.m. Friday at Redlands Community
Church.
She was a registered nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L.; one son, Kevin of Albany,
New York; one daughter, Melinda Borchardt of Centennial;
one sister, Terri Springston of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

Cathie, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and niece, made her
entrance into Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ on Friday, November 11, 2016. She was 67 years old.
She was born on July 3, 1949, in Omaha, NE, to Caroline W.
Turner. Shortly after Cathie’s birth, she and her mother moved
to Denver, CO, where Cathie spent her growing-up years. The
rest of her life was spent in ND and Grand Junction.
On April 30, 1971, she married her sweetheart and man of excellent
worth, Robert L. Hurni, in Denver, CO.
She worked as an RN in Denver at St. Anthony’s Hospital, and
in Grand Junction at St. Mary’s Hospital. She also worked 20
years at Larchwood Inns until her retirement in 2015. She dearly
loved her family and praised God for them and all of her many
friends.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Hurni; daughter, Melinda
(Rich) Borchardt of Centennial, CO; son, Kevin Hurni of
Albany, NY; grandchildren, Jacob Borchardt and Olivia
Borchardt of Centennial, CO; aunt, Louise Oberwitte of Grand
Junction, CO, and sister, Terri (Rev. Jerry) Springston of Cedar
Rapids, IA.
A celebration of Cathie’s life will be held Friday, November
18, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. at Redlands Community Church, 2327
Broadway, with Pastor Joe Gross officiating.
