Letter - 2009

Sally McGrath, extended family member of the Watsons:

Another story for you about Frances (DeeDee) Watson, adopted daughter of John Welsh, mentioned in the obituary you sent. When she was born, her mother, the sister of John Welsh's wife Mary Elizabeth, died in childbirth. THey contacted Mrs. Welsh and told her not to hurry to Arizona where the child was because she would soon die and they could bury her too. They waited a few months and when theh child was still alive, Mrs. Welsh traveled down there and got her. She was raised as a sister to my grandmother, Sallie. She lived to a ripe old age in Eagle."
