Harold Bieser
May 9, 1927 - November 18, 2016
Harold Edwin Bieser died
following a brief illness and
hospitalization. He was 89
years old.
Harold was born in Grand
Junction, Colorado, the
second of two children born to
Otto and Gene Bieser. Harold
graduated from Grand
Junction High School in 1944.
In 1945 he was drafted into
the Army. He went to Europe in 1946 as a member of the Army
of occupation. While stationed in Paris, France he met
Madeleine Madry, the two were later married and remained so
for nearly 69 years.
While living in Grand Junction, Harold was a Journeyman
Master car builder for the Denver and Rio Grand Railroad. Due
to lack of job opportunities Harold moved his family to
Southern California where he continued with the railroad. In
1956 he left railroading altogether but always retained a deep
affection for trains.
Harold spent the remainder of his life in Southern California,
first living with his family in San Diego, while employed with
Convair as a Calibration Technician and later in Santa Ana
where he was employed with the Ford Motor Company of
Newport Beach. There he led the Mechanical Calibration
Department, he always enjoyed a puzzle and a challenge. He
retired in 1985.
Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Claudine A.
Bieser. He is survived by his loving wife, Madeleine A. Bieser;
daughters, Natalie Bieser-Collison and Michelle Bieser; son,
Jack Bieser; granddaughters, Rachel Stone and Julie Martin and
great-granddaughter, Anna Stone.
Harold was a devoted family man who’s kindness and
intelligence will be missed by all who knew him.
