Jacqueline Marie Gross
March 23, 1936 - October 25, 2016
Jacqueline Marie Gross, of Carbondale, Colorado, passed away October 25th, 2016, at the age of 80.
Jacqueline was born march 23rd, 1936, in Callaway, Nebraska to Clark and Nolie Shipley. Jackie and her family moved to Missouri Heights where she attended elementary school and graduated from
Carbondale Union High School in 1954.
She married Robert S. Gross, the love of her life, on April 7th,
1956, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. They were married 61
years. Jackie and Bob owned and operated the Gross Locker
Plant which is still family owned and operated, they also raised
cattle for many years. Jackie loved the ranching business as it
has always been her way of life. Later in life they passed down
the business and retired.
Jackie had a kind heart and would always help needy or
orphaned animals. She loved reading, bowling, sports, her
children and watching her grandchildren grow up. She was also
very active in the local county fair in which her children and
grandchildren took part. Jackie truly was a kind sole, and loved
many, she was also loved by many.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Scott
(Kristi), Rocky (Lisa), Lisa Varley, and Tony (Jane); sister-inlaw,
Vicki Shipley; nine grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert
Shipley, and oldest child, Chuck.
Funeral services will be held at the Farnum Holt Funeral Home
Chapel in Glenwood Springs, Monday, October 31st, viewing
will start at 9:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. with memorial service at
11:00 a.m. followed with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in
Carbondale. A reception at The Orchard in Carbondale will
immediately follow the burial.

A visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Farnum-Holt Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood Springs.
