Dorothy “Jonnie” Dible, 92, Grand Junction, died Nov. 22,
2016, at LaVilla Grande Nursing Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of
Western Colorado.
She was a registered nurse.
Survivors include her husband, James C.; one daughter, Kay
Barnes of Navarre, Florida; six grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren.

Dorothy Ann (Jonnie)
Johnson Dible was born in
Springfield, IL October 8,
1924. She attended schools in
Springfield, Abilene, KS, and
Wichita KS. She attended the
Wesley College of Nursing in
Wichita earning her the
degree of registered nurse.
She married James Dible December 18, 1946.
Jonnie and Jim had three children, six grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren. In 1960, Jonnie and Jim moved to
Colorado eventually settling in Grand Junction in 1968. Jonnie’s
foremost passion in life was her family. She was known for her
unconditional and unwavering love. Jonnie celebrated anything
and everything that was beautiful in this life. She especially
loved the Rocky Mountains and created many paintings of them.
Jonnie is survived by her husband, Jim Dible; daughter, Kay
Barnes (Doug); son-in-law, Danny Maynard (Ann);
granddaughter, Angela Braley (Todd); grandsons, Matthew,
Bradley, and Benjamin Dible, James and Brandon Newlon, and
her nine great-grandchildren.
Jonnie is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister,
daughter Ann Maynard, and son David Dible. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to Hope West Hospice, Grand
Junction, CO
