Edgar Ray Hoffman
November 9, 1914 – December 20, 2016
At the age of 102, Ray went to be with Mae, his bride of 75 years, on December 20, 2016.
Born in Charleston, WV, Ray spent his career as a Draftsman with American Electric Power. He was retired for 42 years. After retirement he and Mae moved to Tennessee, and finally to Grand Junction to be with son, James
"Jim" and daughter-in-law, Mercy.
He and Mae enjoyed traveling, church, and spending time with
friends and family. He was known as a man of few words who
inspired many with his calm acceptance of life and its
challenges and rewards. He served in the U.S. Army during
World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Mae (Morris).
He is survived by his daughter, Bette (Randy) of The Villages,
FL; son, Jim (Mercy) of Grand Junction, CO, and
grandchildren, Heather (Verne) of Arkansas; Tim of
Chattanoga, Tennessee; Lanessa (Santana) of Las Lunas, NM;
Leani (Justin) of Coral Springs, FL, and Jeffrey (Kortney) of
Grand Junction. He additionally is survived by six greatgrandchildren, Kymberly, Brandon, Emily, Geleio, Tiana, and Tayven.
Services and internment shall be Friday, January 6 at 2:30 at
the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Parkway.

Edgar Ray Hoffman, 102, Grand Junction, died Dec. 20, 2016, at
HopeWest and Hospice Care Center.
He was a draftsman for American Electric Power.
Survivors include one son, James of Grand Junction; one daughter,
Bette Powell of The Villages, Florida; five grandchildren; and
six great-grandchildren.
