Dale B. Morton, 86, Grand Junction, died Feb. 2, 2017, at the
Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Services will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial
Cemetery of Western Colorado.
He was a welder.
Survivors include his wife, Alice M.; one son, George Morton of
Clifton; three daughters, Rita Currey of Whitewater, Bonnie Kellerby
of Grand Junction and Sharon Morton of Delta; three brothers,
Jim Morton of Cedaredge and Bryce Morton and Jerry Morton,
both of Delta; one sister, Carol Holt of Denver; 17 grandchildren;
and 17 great-grandchildren.

2121 North Ave., Grand Junction 81501.

Dad passed away peacefully
at the VA Community Living
Center on February 2, 2017.
He was born on June 27,
1930, in Arapahoe, NE, to
John and Alice Morton, the
second of eleven children.
Dad joined the Navy and
served in Hawaii and on the
destroyer USS Frank Knox.
On his discharge he joined the
family in Cedaredge, CO. He then married the love of his life,
Alice Roby, of Cedaredge. They had five children and have
enjoyed 66 years of marriage.
Dad spent several years drilling around the western states, and
then settled down in Grand Junction, and spent 21 years at
Grand Junction Steel. He retired in 1982, and has enjoyed being
with family and friends camping, hunting, golfing, fishing,
traveling to family reunions, and playing cards and games. Dad
truly loved family and friends always getting together and
laughing. Everyone loved his sense of humor and infectious
laughter. They have 17 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.
Dad is survived by his wife, Alice Morton; son, George
(Donna) Morton of Grand Junction; daughters, Rita (Daniel)
Currey of Whitewater; Bonnie (Terry) Kellerby of Grand
Junction, and Sharon Morton of Delta; brothers, Jim (Perla)
Morton of Cedaredge; Bryce (Anne) Morton of Delta, and Jerry
(Linda) Morton of Delta; sister, Carol Holt of Lakewood; one
aunt, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son, Garry Morton; parents, John
and Alice Morton; brothers, George Morton, Ronald Morton,
Virgil Morton, and Lyle Morton, and sisters, Ruther Kissner,
and Clarice Ollerenshaw.
Services will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in
Grand Junction at 3:00 p.m. on February 7, 2017.
