Wanda Lee Foster passed
away at the Courtyard Care
Center in Fruita, Colorado
under the care of Hospice on
February 12, 2017.
She was born on April 21,
1926, in Eckert, Colorado.
She was the second of 13
children born to Homer and
Muriel Lambert. She was married to Melvin Heitsman who was
killed during WWII. She later married Dalton K. Foster in
Grand Junction, Colorado and together they had three children,
twins David and Dennis and daughter, Peggy.
She is survived by son, David of Grand Junction; daughter,
Peggy of Ouray County; eight grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild; sister, Roberta Wall
of California; brothers, Wayne Lambert of Clifton; Donald
Lambert of Oregon, and Bernard Lambert of Florida as well as
numerous nieces and nephews.
She worked as a dental assistant, volunteer probation officer,
and later as a foreign student host.
Wanda Lee was preceded in death by spouse, Dalton; son,
Dennis; sisters, Clestabelle (Jackie) Sutton, Hazel Albright,
Muriel (Tike) Griffith, Naomi Sutton, Annabelle Harwin, and
Sharon Callahan, and brothers, Harvey Lambert and Stephen
Lambert.
Wanda enjoyed cooking, playing with her grandchildren,
sewing, was a Bible scholar, an avid reader, loved babies, and
animals.
She touched the lives of many people along her journey, and
was adored by her family and friends. She will be missed.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
