Thomas Heaton of Clinton, MO, went to be with his Lord, after a 3-year battle with colon cancer on August 15, 2017 in Denver, CO. Born December 31, 1958, Tom is the beloved son of Gene and Aggie Heaton, brother of James (Jackie), and sister Anne (David), all of MO. Loving father of his daughters; Jessica (Mark) Dunn of Ft. Riley, KS and Alexandra (Adam) Stuhlmiller of Bennett, CO. Attentive grandfather to Madison, Faith and Jay. Tom spent his life in law enforcement, retiring from the Steamboat Springs Police Department in 2013, and was a former police officer at the Clinton, MO police department. An avid lover of the Denver Broncos, the Rocky Mountains and all it had to offer, he made his home in Steamboat from 1985 to 2013. He peacefully passed away in Colorado, surrounded by his loving family members, his Colorado relatives and notably among the beautiful mountains and fresh air he so cherished. A memorial service will be held in Greenwood, MO, at Fellowship Greenwood on August 26 and will have interment at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, CO. Memorials may be made to the Williams Syndrome Association, Rocky Mountain Region.
