Nancy Dee Ann Bailey
January 30, 1948 - January 26, 2017
Nancy Dee Ann Bailey, 68, passed away surrounded by her
family on January 26, 2017.
Born in Kansas on January 30, 1948, Nancy built her life
around her passions: family and friends, travel, literature and
service.
Family was always Nancy’s priority and her life was filled with
gatherings and celebrations. Nancy’s parents, siblings, nieces,
nephews and cousins sought her companionship and counsel,
which she enthusiastically shared with a twinkling smile and
warm embrace. Her family also frequently accompanied her on
her many travels across the world. Nancy always returned from
her adventures with wonderful stories to tell and a contagious
wanderlust.
A voracious reader, Nancy shared a love of books and poetry
with her nieces and nephews all of whom credit her for their
own passion for reading.
Nancy also dedicated a great deal of her life to service. She
was a Girl Scout leader, a mentor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters,
an advocate for animal welfare, and a staunch supporter of women’s rights.
Nancy is survived by her siblings, Jim (Penny) Bailey, Rebecca
(Doug) Holmes, and Bill (Debbie) Bailey; nieces and nephews
and their children and extended family throughout the country.
Nancy’s sense of humor and quick laugh will be remembered
by all of those she loved and worked with, lived beside and
served.
Services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017, at Brown’s
Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., 904 N 7th Street, Grand Junction, CO.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Roice-Hurst
Humane Society.
