Cash Clay Kiser III
March 13, 1987 - December 17, 2016
Cash Clay Kiser III, 29, left
this life on December 17th,
2016, in Basalt, Colorado.
Born March 13, 1987, in
Grand Junction, Colorado, to
Judy (Thompson) and Stan
Kiser. He is survived by his
parents; brother Will and Sara
(Williston ND); and grandmother,
Helen (Whitewater,
KS). He was proceeded in
death by his grandfather, Cash Clay Kiser Jr. and his baby sister,
Kasey Lee.
Known as Clay to his family and Cash to everyone else, he was
a graduate of Fruita Monument High School, received his Bachelor’s
Degree in Marketing from Colorado Mesa University, and
did post graduate studies at the Seattle Film Institute. Early on,
Cash played hockey, and became an accomplished downhill
mountain biker. He always had some road rash and large bruises
in those days from crashes as he screamed down the mountains.
He made it to the podium several times and we are all so
proud of him.
He was a professional photographer and had an incredible talent
to capture the perfect moment. He would climb up the side
of mountains in the grip of winter long before dawn to capture
that special light that only lasts for minutes and is seen by few.
Cash was very passionate about music and had an amazing impact
on our community. He started Skylark Productions producing
shows and solicited bands from across the country and was
determined to improve our lives with music. In the words of a
friend “He’s brought awesome vibes, awesome jams, and the
most awesome of people together.” He had a contagious laugh
that brightened the world and was known for his kindness, caring,
and a wild sense of humor. Everyone was equal and special
to Cash, and he let you know that. He loved his family and was
a real sap around our pets.
Treasure the memories of Cash with a smile, he wouldn’t want
it any other way. Celebrate his life with us at Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary Friday, December 30, 1:00, followed by internment in
Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
After the service, from 2:00 to 6:00 we invite any and all of
Cash’s friends and family to share some time together at
Redlands Community Center, 2463 Broadway, GJ.
As a friend wrote “If there is one good thing that comes from
this devastating loss…it is a renewal of value that we place in
each other”. POOL PARTY FOREVER. Love you Little Buddy.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family respectfully requests
that donations be made in Cash’s memory to Mind Springs
Health, P.O. Box 40, Glenwood Springs, CO 81602.
