Ron Schelling departed this
life December 13th, 2016, at
home surrounded by his
family.
He was born February 6,
1930, in Freeport, Illinois to
Lovere Schelling and Marion
(Smith).
Ron was married for 63
years to the love of his life,
Carolyn, and produced two
sons, Gary of New Castle and Gregory of Silt. His three
grandsons, Brandon(Anjulie), Dillon (Drew), and Colton were
the joy of his life.
He loved to hunt and fish with his sons and grandsons. Ron
also enjoyed training and riding horses, serving Colorado Horse
Rescue for many years. His love of travel with his family and
friends led he and Carol to many countries. Ron graduated form
the University of Colorado as an Ensign of the US Navy serving
two years of active service and many years in the reserves. His
fine career as a CPA, specializing in tax accounting, led to a
partnership in a large national CPA firm. Later, he created his
own business doing partnerships and corporate accounting.
Ron and Carol moved form Denver to Battlement Mesa in
1999. Their lives here were filled with love of family and friends
and service to God. As his health deteriorated, he retired in
2014.
Ron requested a celebration of his life be held in the Spring.
