Albert S. Hughes, 56, Grand Junction, died March 4, 2017, in
Moab, Utah.
Services will take place at a later date.
He was an information technology specialist at the Veterans Affairs
Medical Center.
Survivors include one son, Albert “Chipper” Sr. of Grand Junction;
three daughters, Katelyn Kelly of Boulder, Rebbeca Kelly of
Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Alice Elaine Hughes of Grand Junction;
and one brother, Lenny Hughes of Grand Junction.

Albert S. Hughes passed
away March 4, 2017, at Castle
Valley, Utah, he was 56.
Albert was born on July 26,
1960, in Spokane, Washington
from the union of Oscar and
Joyce Lorene Hughes.
Albert was a United States
Navy veteran who served our
country from 1977-1997. He
was a jet engine mechanic,
gas turbine mechanic and recruiter for the Navy. He worked at
Management Recruiters and later in the IT Department of the
Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Junction until his
passing. He attended Colorado Christian University in Grand
Junction where he received a degree in computer systems management.
Albert was a Grand Junction resident for 21 and one half years
and had previously lived in Racine, Wisconsin, Redding, California
and Whitbey Island, Washington. He married Tara E.
Hughes and they later divorce. Albert enjoyed fly-fishing, riding
his Harley Davidson motorcycle on the open road, cooking, but
most of all were memorable times spent with his children.
Albert leaves behind his four children, son; Albert S. “Chipper”
Hughes Jr. of Grand Junction, Colorado; daughters,
Katelyn Kelly of Boulder, Colorado; Rebecca Kelly of Virginia
Beach, VA, and Alice Hughes of Grand Junction, Colorado, and
brother, Lenny Hughes of Grand Junction, Colorado. He was
preceded in death by his parents.
Military honors will take place at 3:00 p.m., April 7, 2017, at
the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. A Community
Service will take place at 3:00 p.m., April 8, 2017 at
2555 F ½ Rd, Grand Junction, CO 81505 to celebrate his life.
