Shawn Bryan West, age 50,
died Monday March 27, 2017,
following a brief illness.
Born November 21, 1966, in
Miami, Florida, he was the
son of the late Thomas
Richard West and Barbara
Ann West.
Shawn attended Englewood
High School in Jacksonville,
Florida. Shawn had been
employed as a Daycare Caregiver at Kids of the Kingdom
Daycare for eight years. He also had worked as a taxi driver,
building and grounds keeper at Camp Christian and Northeast
Christian Church, and was self-employed.
Shawn was a member of Northeast Christian Church and also
held the rank of Commander with the Royal Rangers. Shawn
enjoyed woodworking, leather working, sport shooting, movies,
bicycle repair and made three short term mission trips to
Columbia. Shawn was quiet and headstrong. He valued hard
work and integrity and was always helping others. Shawn was
prayerful in his decision making and sought the Lord’s will.
Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Richard
West and mother, Barbara Ann West. He is survived by brothers,
Tom West, Kansas, Oklahoma; Matt (Becky) West, Jacksonville,
Florida, and Scott West, West Palm Beach, Florida.
Memorial services will be April 6, 2017, 6:00 p.m. at
Northeast Christian Church, 2751 Patterson Rd., Grand
Junction, CO.
