Barbara Freeman, 88, Grand Junction,
died March 31, 2017, at HopeWest and
Hospice Care Center.
A rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. with
services to follow at 10 a.m. Tuesday at
Brown’s Chapel. Burial to follow at 1 p.m. at
the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western
Colorado.
She was an insurance agent.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory and
Philip, both of Grand Junction; one brother,
Robert Scott; and three grandchildren.

Barbara Freeman peacefully
went to her heavenly home on
Friday, March 31, 2017, with
family at her side. She was
under the care of HopeWest
Hospice.
Barbara was born in Denver,
CO to Myrland and Barbara
(Carson) Scott. She grew up
in the San Francisco and
Denver areas. She thoroughly
enjoyed Social Studies, Russian, the piano, cello and reading.
Barbara met her true love, AL Freeman, and they were wed on
January 27, 1951. They adopted five wonderful boys, Daniel,
Paul, Gregory, Philip and Vincent.
Her life was full with taking the boys for their activities which
included swimming and tennis. She also worked managing the
office at her husband’s Insurance Agency. Cooking for family at
the holidays was always a culinary treat. Her favorite, coconut
cream pie, was frequently found on the table for dessert. She
loved and protected her family with her whole being.
Barbara always stopped to help the underdog and will be
deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sons,
and one brother.
She is survived by her two sons, Gregory and Philip Freeman
of Grand Junction, CO. Her loving grandchildren, Paul Freeman
of Grand Junction, CO, and Alicia and Jason Freeman of Ft.
Myers, FL will miss her. Her brother, Robert Scott, also
survives.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at
9:30 a.m. A rosary will be said with service to follow. She will
be laid to rest at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western
Colorado to be with her departed husband.
A celebration of life will follow at Greg Freeman’s home.
