Eva S. Combs, 78, Grand Junction, died March 31, 2017, at her
home.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints, 2542 G Road. Services will follow at 10 a.m. at the
church. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at the Boneta Mountain Home Cemetery
in Altamont, Utah.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Larry K.; one son, David of Salt
Lake City, Utah; one daughter, Tara Gaede of Limon; three brothers,
Samuel Swasey of Millville, Utah, Merrill Swasey of Castle
Dale, Utah, and Douglas Swasey of Boneta, Utah; four sisters, Virginia
Foresberg of Ottawa, Canada, Patricia Thomas of Salt Lake
City, Afton Smith of Boise, Idaho, and Mary Rockwood of Monument;
and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions to the LDS Missionary or Humanitarian

Eva Swasey Combs returned
to her Heavenly Father on
March 31, 2017.
She was born on March 11,
1939, in Roosevelt, Utah to
Sherman Martin and Birdie
Isabella Robison Swasey. She
was the third child of nine.
Her childhood was spent on
the family farm in Bonita,
Utah. She married Larry K.
Combs in Salt Lake City, Utah. This union lasted for 42 years
and was later solemnized in the Dallas, Texas Temple. She lived
in Bloomington, Illinois prior to moving to Grand Junction in
2000.
She is survived by her husband; son, David T. Combs;
daughter, Tara Combs Gaede; son -in-law, C. Andrew Gaede;
grandchildren, Emma, Kaleb, and Hannah; brothers, Samuel
(Patricia), Merrill (Sandra), and Douglas (Sandra); sisters,
Virginia (Clyde) Forsberg, Patricia Thomas, Afton (Larry)
Smith, and Mary (Gary) Rockwood; sister-in-law, Susan Combs
(David) Jabusch and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. As a member she held many leadership and
teaching callings. Eva had a great appreciation for music. She
was a great cook, homemaker and interior decorator.
Eva was given wonderful late life care by HopeWest Hospice.
A special thanks to, Susan and Ruth, her nurses.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 6, at the LDS Grand
Junction West Stake Center, 25 ½ and G Road. Visitation will be
held at 9:00 a.m. and services will follow at 10:00 a.m. Eva will
be interred in The Mountain Home Cemetery, Mountain Home,
Utah.
In-lieu of flowers, please contribute to a LDS missionary or
humanitarian fund, HopeWest Hospice, or a charity of your
choice.
