Gloria Irene Sundermeier, 78, Grand Junction, died March
29, 2017, in Palisade.
Services will take place at a later date.
Survivors include two sons, John L. Morgan of Spring Arbor,
Michigan, and Joseph M. Morgan of Plainwell, Michigan; one
daughter, Janelle Morgan Baker of Grand Junction; one brother,
Dale Pickett of Fort Myers, Florida; and five grandchildren.

Gloria Irene (Pickett) Morgan
Sundermeier "Grammie"
passed away on March 29,
2017. She was born January
15, 1939, to Avis A. and Raymond
L. Pickett. Gloria was
the youngest of five children.
She was loved by her
siblings, as well as her nieces and nephews who were close to
her in age and were more like brothers and sisters.
Gloria graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo,
Michigan. She attended both Western Michigan University
and Kalamazoo Valley Community Colleges, completing
an associate’s degree of arts.
She was active in the Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church growing
up and until moving to Pensacola, Florida, in 1992, where
she found a church home in the Robertsdale United Methodist
congregation.
In 1997 she moved to the Grand Junction area, where she
joined the Crossroads United Methodist Church and choir. Gloria
also sang with the Sweet Adeline’s Delrose chorus. She became
an award winning “Spellbinder,” telling drama stories to elementary
students.
She is survived by her brother, Dale Pickett of Ft. Meyers, Florida;
sons, John L. (Karen) Morgan and Joseph M. (April) Morgan;
daughter, Janelle (Chris) Morgan-Baker; several grandchildren,
Kaitlyn Morgan, Hannon Morgan, Taylor Baker, and
McKayla Morgan; as well as the acquired ones, Perry Baker,
Kassie, Kuhns, and Karissa Kuhns. She was preceded in death
by grandsons, Darren A. Morgan and Glenn J. Baker.
A Celebration of Life will be at Palisades Living Center at
2:00 p.m. on April 28, 2017.
