JOE GREEN PASSED AWAY IN GLENWOOD SATURDAY.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Eagle Wednesday for Joe Green, long time resident of Eagle, who passed away in Glenwood Saturday. Both Mr. and Mrs. Green had been in extremely poor health for a long period of time, and last week they were both taken to the Community hospital in Glenwood where they could be cared for. The couple had celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Nov. 9, having been married on Nov. 9, 1887. Joseph E. Green was born to James and Emiline Green in Culver, Ind., on October 11, 1866, and had lived in Eagle since 1911. He was the father of four children, three preceding him in death. Mr. Green worked at his trade as carpenter in and around Eagle until failing health would no longer permit him to work a few years ago. He is survived by his widow, May; a son, Jesse H. Green of Snyder, Tex.; two brothers, John of Washington and George of Florida; and five grandchildren, Irvin, Bobby and Raymond Wells; J. H. Green, Jr., and Virginia Stamford. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Andre Funeral Home in Eagle and Rev. Paul Shields held memorial services. Interment was in the Eagle cemetery.
