Donald Arlo Morrow of
Paonia, CO, passed away on
Friday, April 28, 2017, at St.
Mary’s Hospital in Grand
Junction, CO. He was 90
years old.
Funeral services will be at
11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May
4, 2017, at Paonia Catholic
Church with James Gall
officiating. Inurnment will
follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Graveside services will be
by Wilson Head American Legion #97 and UMWA #6417
officiating.
Donald was born on March 25, 1927, to Arlo Duff and Anne
(Arnott) Morrow in Crested Butte, Colorado. He spent his
childhood in Crested Butte and Paonia. Donald graduated from
Paonia High School.
After graduation, Donald served his country in the United
States Navy.
He married Evelyn Ann Pobirk on June 25, 1955, in Paonia.
They would have been married 62 years this June.
Donald worked for U. S. Steel for 38 years. He was a member
of the Hotchkiss Elks Lodge, Wilson Head American Legion
and UMWA. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and 4-
wheeling.
Donald is survived by his wife, Evelyn Ann Morrow of Paonia,
CO; sons, Daniel John Morrow of Sand Point, ID, and Mike
(Tammy) Morrow of Canon City, CO; daughter, Dona (Daryl)
Valencich of Trinidad, CO; sister, Carol Emmons of Grand
Junction, CO; brother, Norman (Kathleen) Morrow of
Cedaredge, CO; an honorary daughter, Jyl Voss of Denver, CO;
grandchildren, Aaron (Pam) Morrow; Jessica (Carl) Morrow;
Caleb Morrow; Kelsey (Bryce) Morrow-Thorstad; Sara (Joe)
Valencich; Rachel Valencich and Katie Valencich, and five
great-grandchildren. His grandkids meant everything to him.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy
and grandson, Travis.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be made in
Donald’s memory to HopeWest Hospice, P. O. Box 24, Delta,
Colorado or to SIDS research at www.sids.org
