Mary Margaret Yoast died may 17, 1997. She was 81.

She was born to Mary (Marshall) Sullivan and Brendan Sullivan on July 22, 1915 in Corona. Mary spent her childhood at Williams Fork and graduated high school from St. Scholastica Academy in Canon City. She also attended school at Pagoda and Hayden and graduated from St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing.

Mary married Raymond Yoast Jan. 31, 1939, in Craig. They were residents of Hayden since the mid 1930's. She was a registered nurse and worked at Solandt Hospital in Hayden and the Memorial Hospital in Craig. Mary also assisted her husband in operations of their dairy when necessary and was the bookkeeper there as well.

She enjoyed her work, square dancing, fishing and spending time with her family. Mary was a member of the Colorado Nurses Association and the Hayden Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brenden and Mary Sullivan; her husband, Raymond Yoast; and three brothers, Roger Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, and Brendan Sullivan.

She leaves seven brothers, Tom and wife Evelyn Sullivan of San Diego, Calif., Francis and wife Carolyn Sullivan of Meeker, Byron Sullivan of Dillon, Mont., Melvin and wife Flora Sullivan of Delta, Milton Sullivan of Craig, Patrick and wife Nancy Sullivan of Meeker, and James and wife Lynn Sullivan of Lakewood; two sisters, Celia Knott of Craig and Jeannette and husband George Gruber of Colorado Springs; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Lillian Sullivan of Spokane, Wash.

Services were held May 20 at the Hayden Congregational Church with Fr. Carl Longwill officiating. Final disposition is at the Hayden Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to The Memorial Hospital in Craig in care of Grant Mortuary.
