WM. F. STRANKMAN
William Fred Strankman, resident of Gypsum for the past 24 years, died at his home Friday. Mr. Strankman died cf cancer, an illness of about two months. Mr. Strankman was born in Lincoln, Neb., Feb. 19, 1893, to Louis and Mary Strankman. The family came to Colorado in 1904, settling at Clifton. On June 14, 191G Win. Strankman and Zella Elizabeth Park, childhood friends, were married in Grand Junction, In 1929 the Strankmans moved to Edwards, Eagle County, remaining there until they moved in 1935 to Gypsum. For the past 13 years Mr. Strankman was cus todian of Eagle County High School where he was very populai with the young people. On his 66th birthday last February, the high school student body honored him at a surprise birthday party, showing their affection for him Burdge Mortuary of Glenwood was in charge of funeral arrangements and services were conduct ed by Reverend H. C. Moorehead in the Gypsum Methodist Church Monday, July 13. Burial was In the Gypsum cemetery. Pall bearers were Art Stremme, Bob Orr, John Burris, Carl Stewart, Henry Knnth and Richard Taylor. Mr. Strankman is survived by his wife, 2ella; thVee children, Mrs. Richard (Otfai Rose) Casteele, Rifle; Mrs. Maurice (Harriet May). Naeve, Palisade; arid Glen of Pueblo. ' Two brothers. Henry H. of Grand Junction and Frits J., of Red River, N. Mex and one sister, Rose W. Bhrke of Fawnskin, Calif., also survive. Mr Strankman had six' grandchildren Out of town relatives coming for the funeral were Mr. Strankman’s children and their families; his two brothers and their wives; Mr. and Mrs Alvin Naeve of Palisade. Mr. and Mrs. Lon Paxson and daughter, Mr. and Mrs Gary Lun din all of Clifton. A granddaugh ter, Vicki Strankman of Grand' Junction was visiting the Strank mans at the time of her grand father’s death
