CALLIE GORDON
Another Eagle County lady was called by death Friday morning, Jan 13, when Mrs. Gallic Gordon died in the home of her sister, Mrs. Odus Gordon in Gypsum Valley. Mrs. Gordon, 78, was a highly respected lady of the Gypsum community, and the admiration and affection felt for her among the large circle o friends was diown through their affectionate name for her, “Aunt Callie.” Callie Fletcher was born April 16, 1872 in the Indian Territory which is now Oklahoma, She was married to William Gordon December 10, 1888, to which union was born five children, three daughters and two sons: Mrs, Laura Clark, Gypsum; Mrs. Vern Kutz, Pomona, Calif.; Mrs. Earve Eaton of Stilwell, OKla., Ben Gordon of Los Angeles and Oatman Gordon of Minturn. The family lived in Oklahoma for forty years, and in 1926 moved to Gypsum Valley where they joined their children , who had preceded them to Colorado. In 1933 the couple celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary and seven year s later Mr. Gordon passed away. During the past few months, Mrs Gordon failed rapidly in health, and it was apparent for several days before her death, that the end was near. Memorial service was held in the Gypsum Methodist Church Monday, January 16, with Rev. Paul Shields officiating. Funeral music was furnished by Mrs. Elmer Lundgren and Mrs. Fred Davenport, who sang ‘ God Will Take Care,” “Some Day We’ll Understand,” and “Sweet By and By,” accompanied by Mrs. Jack Combs. Interment was in the Gypsum cemetery and pall bearers were Allen Clark, Ned Sixkiller, Jim Phillips, Frank Van Horn, Herman Erickson and Willis Staup.

MRS. CALLIE GORDON DIED THURSDAY
Mrs. Cal lie Gordon passed away at her home in Gypsum January 12. following a period of failing health. Funeral services are in charge of Bowman Funeral Chapel at Eagle, and date and time will be posted in the postoffice.
