Darlene Gladys Haile
October 23, 1934 - May 2, 2017
Darlene Gladys Haile was
born in Tooele, Utah October
23, 1934, to the late Lyman
Amasa Mecham and Gladys
Haslam Mecham.
Darlene took great pride in
being a mother and a
homemaker. It truly brought
her great joy. She was an
excellent cook and enjoyed
preparing delicious, healthy
meals for her family. She loved having her hands in the dirt,
gardening and planting beautiful flowers. She was very good at
decorating cakes and made many wedding and birthday cakes.
She showed us by example the traits of healthy eating, healthy
living and taking pride in hard work. Darlene was an avid BYU
fan. It didn’t matter the sport, she knew the schedule days in
advance and would look forward to watching them.
Darlene loved her Heavenly Father. She had an unwavering
faith, and served many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Relief Society and was
Relief Society president for many years. She taught kids from
primary to young women attending girls camp, which she loved.
She also managed the Bishop’s Storehouse, and truly took pride
in serving each calling to her fullest potential.
May 2, 2017 our dear, beautiful mother, grandmother, sister
and aunt passed away quickly and unexpectedly in her home.
Darlene is survived by sons, Kenneth Haile, and Clinton Haile;
daughters, Davene Collins and Teena Emanuel; 12
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Darlene’s love will live on inside of us which we will hold
tight. There was not a day that went by in our lives we did not
feel her love.
Services will be held Monday, May 15, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at
the LDS Church, 2235 Kingston.
