Curtis Kelley Sisson Sr., Delta, 88, died May 3, 2017, at Denver
Hospice in Denver.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Delta
City Cemetery.
Mr. Sisson is survived by three sons, Curtis Jr. of Grand Junction,
Edward of Delta and James of Shreveport, Louisiana; one
daughter, Catherine Waitman of Delta; two sisters, Mary-Lee Curtis
of San Jose, California, and Nina “Midge” Wadley of Kennewick,
Washington; 11 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and
six great-great-grandchildren.

peacefully on Wednesday,
May 3, 2017, at Denver
Hospice in Denver, Colorado.
He was 88 years old.
Graveside services will be
held 10:00 a.m., Thursday,
May 11, 2017, at Delta City
Cemetery with Ed Sisson and the V.F.W. post #3571 officiating.
Curtis Kelley Sisson was born October 20, 1928, to Dave and
Souvina (Israel) Sisson in Little Kansas, Oklahoma. He spent
his childhood in North Eastern Oklahoma and the North Fork
Valley of Delta County. Curt attended school in Oklahoma and
Delta County.
Curt went on to serve his country in the United States Navy as
a Motor Machinist’s Mate Third Class during World War II.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Curt went on
to become a truck driver, a logger, and later the owner of Sisson
Feed and Seed and Hiway Café.
On September 24, 1949, Curt married Ruby Faye Cross. To
this union four children were born. The couple was married for
53 years before Ruby passed away in December 2002.
Curt is survived by sons, Curtis Sisson, Jr. (Roberta) of Grand
Junction, CO; Edward Sisson (Sharon) of Delta, CO, and James
Sisson (Laura) of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Catherine Waitman
(Bruce) of Delta, CO; sisters, Mary-Lee Curtis of San Jose, CA
and Nina “Midge” Wadley of Kennewick, WA; 11
grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren, and six great-greatgrandchildren.
Curt was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ruby
Sisson; parents, Dave and Souvina Sisson; brother, Otis Sisson;
sisters, Loretta Herd and Margie Price, and granddaughter,
Jaime Catherine Sisson Butler.
