FUNERAL SERVICES DEC. 11 FOR JOHN HIRE
John Hirz resident of Wolcott since 1922, passed away in a Glenwood hospital Thursday, Dec. 9, and funeral services were held for him in Gypsum Saturday afternoon by Rev. Charles S. Bream in the Lutheran church. Mr. Hirz was born in Tremont, 111., on November 26, 1879, and was 69 years old when he died. He had lived in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming before moving to Colorado in 1922, going at that time to Wolcott, and had lived there since until quite recently when he moved to Gypsum to work in the saw-mill operated by his nephews, John and Arnold Hirz. He is survived by the two nephews of Gypsum; a brother, George, of Gypsum; a sister, Mrs. Sophie Gunther, Plattsmouth, Neb.;and two half-sisters, Mrs. Bessie Swanson of Caputa, .South Dakota, and Mrs Theresa Hudson of Oklahoma City, Okla. At the services Mrs. Clare Lundgren and Mrs. Dorothy Gerard, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Roberta Combs, sang appropriate songs. Interment was in the Gypsum cemetery. X
