Calvin H. James, son of Mary Olive and Benjamin. Franklin James, was born in Missouri Vallley, lowa, October 29. 1893 anti died in a Sail da hospital January 17, 1962. He spent his childhood in lowa and Oklahoma and in 1911 came with his parents to Boulder. Colo. He worked at Eldora as a miner, and there met Calla Robinson. The couple was married in Brighton April 16, 1914. To this union were born seven children. Mr. and Mrs Janies lived for a while in Oklahoma, then returned to Boulder in 1923. Three years later they move 1 to Copper Spur. Mr. James worked in the timber there, then in timber near Leadville for a,bout a year. They returned to Eagle County in 1928, and be continued to operate his sawmill in the McCoy-Burns area until ft® entered the employ of the D & R G railroad in 1944. Because of failing health, Mr. James was forced to retire and he and Mrs. James moved to a home they had purchased in Eagle, in 19&8. He is survived, by his wife, Caila of Eagle: his children: Clifford of Hot Sulphur Springs; Robert of Walnut Creek, Calif.; Benjamin of Denver; Betty Piercefiekl, Basaft: Mary Sallee, Eagle and Nadeen Bearden of Cripple Creek. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred River in 1949. Eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted for Mr. James by Reverend H. C Moorhead at the Eagle Met'. -dist Church Sunday afternoon. Interment, directed by Miller Funeral Home, was in the Eagle cemetery. Jody Chambers, organist, accompanied N.D. Morgan, Melvin Eaton, Wayne Randall and Chester Mayer, male quartet. Pallbearers were Les Olinger and Johnny Ambros of Glenwood, H. A. Stull, Jake Stull and Al Stull and Raymond Bearden.

CALVIN JAMES DIED IN SALIDA WEDNESDAY

Calvin B. James, Eagle resident, died in the Salida hospital, which he had entered for treatment last Sunday. Mr. James had been in flailing health for several years. It was because of his health, he retired from ailfeed work at Bums and moved to Eagle a few years ago. Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend H. C. Moorhead at the Eagle Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock Miller Mortuary of Eagle is in charge of arrange ments.
