THOMAS E. HOWARD DIES IN GLENWOOD.

Tom Howard, one of the early settlers of Eagle county died in Glenwood Springs Feb. 9, 1946, be ing nearly 79 years of age. Mr. Howard was a county commissioner in Eagle county in the latter 90’s. He came to Eagle county in 1890, and during his residence here mined on Battle Mountain. After going to Glenwood he served for a time as undersheriff and later conducted a cigar and tobacco store for a number of years. Funeral services were conducted from the Farnum Funeral Home in Glenwood Feb. 12, by Rev. O. W. Richard, and the body was laid to rest in Rosebud cemetery. He is survived by a nephew, Chas. L, Howard, and a niece, Mrs. E“ B. Reeves, of Glenwood Springs. Mr. Howard will be remembered well by all of the older residents of the county, who are sorry to learn of the passing of another of our pioneers.
