Robert Gene Gilmore
January 19, 1932 - March 13, 2017
He was born Robert Gene Gilmore on January 19, 1932, to parents, Merritt V. Gilmore (Turk) and Rose L. Mills in Burbank, CA. Bud passed from this life on March 13, 2017, to ride for the Lord’s brand on that Heavenly Ranch in the sky, he was 85 years old.
He graduated from Nucla High School in 1951, where he lettered in football. Bud also went to school at Uravan and Montrose.
Bud was drafted into the army in 1953, and spent two years in
the service during the Korean War.
Places of residences during his lifetime were Redvale, CO;
Uravan, CO; Montrose, CO; Phoenix, AZ; and Grand Junction,
CO.
His occupations were rodeo cowboy and clown, truck driver,
feed lot cowboy and cattleman; but he like being retired the
best!
Hobbies were anything on horseback, fishing, camping, 4-
wheeling and, did I mention, fishing!
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom; son,
Gary; step-daughter, Carol; wife, Phyllis, and is survived by
wife, Pat; nieces, Vicki Powell and Sandy Gray and their
families; step-children, Butch Lowery, Nancy Dawson, Lyle
Bowen, Ron Bowen, Lisa Neier, and Angie Uribe and their
children and grandchildren. Never to forget the many dear
friends that Bud has known along the trail.
Special thanks to Professional Care Management nurses, Sara,
Sandy, Prudie and Lisa, for your tender loving care. Thanks to
all our family and friends who have been there with us through
all the good times and through his illness, as well.
Bud had a heart larger than life and the Lord doesn’t make
men like him anymore. Happy trails, my Love!
Reflection of Life service to be held at Callahan-Edfast, 2515
