Eagle Valley Enterprise - July 22, 1965
Loran Huston of Eagle suffered a heart attack at work in the timber southeast of Eagle Friday and was dead upon arrival at the office of Dr. Marshall Gibby in Eagle, brought there by fellow workers. Mr. Huston was born March 17, 1906. He lived at Yampa before coming to Eagle four years ago. Here he worked as a trucker, and had been employed by Western Slope Lumber Co. for a only a few days before his death. Funeral services were held at the Yampa Bible Church, July 19, by Reverend Verle Shore. Burial was in Yampa, with the graveside service conducted by Bird Howe Post 189 American Legion, Yampa. Pallbearers were Barney Hodge, Russell Brawford, Ed Harper, Kirk Crowner, Ed Farrington, and Jervis Benis. Sruviving are Mr. Huston's wife, Lois and a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Vera) kinnett of Eagle; a son, Eldon Huston of Denver and a daughter, Mildred King of San Francisco. 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
