Grand Junction Daily Sentinel page 3D Obituary - April 30, 2017

Grace Marie Rose Price
entered the heavenly gates on
April 17, 2017, after a sudden
and recurring illness.
She was born May 18, 1936,
in Denver, to Ted and Amy
Rose. She grew up in Vona,
and then New Raymer, after
her mother died when Grace
was ten. She had three sisters, Beverly, Violet, and Marilyn. She
became a nurse, a published poet, a lover of everyone, and lover
of God most of all.
She married James Price April 5, 1968; they just celebrated
their 49th anniversary “with a pretend trip to Italy.” They had
two children, Tim and Brian. Brian needed extra care, so she
sacrificed herself and quit nursing to take care of him. Brian
went to heaven in 2008.
Grace endured more than anyone should and was able to be
forgiving even in the most extreme cases. In 2013 she and Jim
moved to Grand Junction to be close to family. It was during
this time that her nieces and their families really got to know
her. She was ornery, loving, caring, selfless, adventurous,
instigated water and whipped cream fights, and wanted to make
sure you knew Jesus.
The family wishes to thank all the entities in the valley that
helped her in the last few years; there are way too many to list.
She will be missed by many, loved by all who knew her, and
they will miss that love she showered on all she met. In her last
days she was surrounded by those who loved her.
She is survived by sister, Violet; husband, Jim; nieces, Glenda,
Carrie, Connie, Hope, Chris, and Larinda; nephews, Lonnie and
Wes; extended family, Lynn, Paul, Frank, Brenda, Silvia,
Brendon, Michelle, Violet, Alexis, Eshlay, Shawn, Sydnie,
Wyatt, Kaden, Makena, Amanda, Andy, Azalia, and Aspen.
Services will be May 7 at 3:00, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in
Grand Junction, CO. This will be a celebration, so wear your
bright colors. Her favorite was red, but she liked anything
colorful.
