OBITUARY OF L. C. KING.

Lewis C. King was born at Rockport, Mo., Dec. 20, 1867. • He came to Leadville with his mother in 1881 and there became engaged in the mining business, whicn he followed until 1916 when he took up ranching at Minturn, which he continued until his health tailed him in 1939. He then went o Fitzsimmons hospital at Denver where he was a patient until his death, Apr. 24, 1944. He wasa veteran of the SpanishAmerican war. He was united in marriage to Birdie Shively on Sept. 15. 1905. To (his union nine children were born. Lewis C. King is survived by his wife, Mrs. Birdie King of Minturn, and seven children —Mrs. Eliza Bridenbaugh of Denver, Mrs. Ellen Mann of Minturn, Mrs. Lucy Williams of Grand Junction, Miss Edith King of Minturn, Charles W. King of Grand Junction, Lewis Clinton King of Minturn, Kenneth King of the U. S. navy, and eight grandchildren, all of whom were present at the funeral. Burial was in Riverview cemetery at Minturn, Saturday, Apr. 29. Pallbearers were Ralph Meyer, Elmer Huff, Elmer Nelson, William Mcßreen, Quinton Sagrilla, and Sighed Nelson. V

An Old Time Resident Passes Away. Eagle county lost an old-time pioneer when Lewis C. King died at the Fitzsimmons hospital in Den- j ver April 24, 1944. The funeral was ! held in the Community church on' Saturday. Sig Nelson, Ralph Mey-1 er, Elmer Huff, Elmer Nelson, Billie Mcßreen, Quinton Sagrilla were pall bearers Interment was made in Riverside cemetery at Minturn. The' community extends sympathy to the family in their bereavement.
