JOSEPH LANGFIELD DIED
Joseph Langfield, 86-year old retired railroad worker, passed away last Tuesday morning in the Salida hospital, following a long illness. Mr. Langfield had been a resident of the Salida nursing home for several years. He was born Oct. 6, 1877 in Buffalo, N. Y. and came to Salida as a young man. He was a timekeeper and clerk for the D&RG until 1948, when he retired. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Salida, and the Order of R. R. Clerks. He is survived by one daughter Mrs. Leola Cope of Salida; three grandsons, Charles and Joseph Jay of Salida and Norman Cope of Les Plains, 111., and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded , in death by his wife, Kitty, who died in 1957. Rosary and Mass were at St. Joseph’s Church and interment was in Salida. Mr and 'Mrs Langfield were well known here, and were active in church, railroad and social circles when they lived in Mintum.
