Maxine Lewis, former Sweetwater and Gypsum resident, died Jan. 9 at the Sambrillo Nursing Facility in Los Alamos, NM. She was 69. Maxine spent her childhood in Sweetwater and Gypsum where she attended school. She lived much of her adult life in Los Alamos, where she was employed by the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Gypsum. Interment at the Gypsum Cemetery will be at a later date. Maxine was the daughter of the late Carl and Doris Stewart, who were lifelong residents of Eagle County and Gypsum. Survivors include her son, Edward Bosier; two grandchildren, James and Kathie Bosier, both of Denver; sister Shirlee Gamble of Grand Junction.
