Graveside services were held Wednesday for Joel F. Leyba, 24. He died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction after a long illness. Born October 8. 1967 in Leadville to Luciano and Roseline (Garcia) Leyba, Joel was raised in the Edwards and Gypsum area. He enjoyed rodeos, country music, and was a cowboy. Preceded in death by his father, Joel is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bert (Roseline) Ransom of Gypsum; sisters Annie Brunham and Jackilie Leyba of Gypsum; grandparents Epi and Mary Garcia of Gypsum and Berabe Leya of Laramie, WY. Rev. Bruce Dunsdon officiated at services conducted at the Cedar Hill Memorial Cemetery in Gypsum. Farnum Holt Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
