ANNA KROELLING

Funeral services were held Sunday in Leadville for Mrs- Anna Kroelling, who died in a Leadville hospital July 19, following an illness of several years. Eastern Star services were conducted by officers of Colorado Chapter No- 2, O. E- S. in the MoynahanO’Malia chapel Sunday afternoon, attended by many Eagle County people. Rev. C- G. Charaberalin, pastor of the Presbyterian church officiated and vocal selections were offered by Mrs. George W Emerson and Mrs. Andrew Sundquist, accompanied by Mrs Ted Lane. They sang "The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and were joined by Eastern Star offices in singing “Near er My God To Thee” to conclude the serviceBurial was in the Masonic plot of Evergreen cemetery in Leadville, and pallbearers were Martin Eichler and Will Schlutter of Eagle, Harry Beamer, Chester Paddock, Karl Wurtz and Adolph Thielke of Leadville. Anna Winters was born in Germany September 12, 1872 and came to this country at an early age. She married Paul F- Kroelling, Leadville butcher in 1892 The family later moved to Avon, where they bought farming land, and lived there for many years. Following her husband’s death a few years ago,’ Mrs. Kroelling returned to Leadville and made her home with a close friend, Mrs Kate Klippel until the time of Mrs Kroelling’s death last week. She was a member of Violet Circle No. 1 Neighbors of Woodcraft and had been affiliated with Battle Mountain Chapter No- 120 Eastern Star since 1923A son, Fred Kroelling now of Carbondale survives. Another son preceded her in death.
