JERRY MAHONEY DIED SUNDAY
Had Lived Aft Avon Since 1901 Requiem high mass was solemnized by Rev. Father E L Morgan in the Leadville Church of the Annunciation Wednesday morning for Jerry Mahoney, long time resident «»f Avon and prominent rancher of that district. Interment was in St Joseph’s cemetery in Leadville and pallbeai ers, all of them from Eagle and Min turn. wei:e Elmer NekVn, Joseph Mack, William Flynn. Ralph Meyer. William H Luby and H A Notting hamJerry Mahoney was born in New York on January 20, 1873. and came west when he was a young man He went first to Leadville. then to Eagle county and bought the Smith ranch at Avon in 1901, and had resid ed there since He had taken a lead in political, social and ranch affairs in the county until his failing health forced his retirement and active management of the ranch was turn ed over to his nephew. Francis Walsh. He suffered a stroke a year ago and since then had been in fail ing health. In 1914 he was married to Mary Walsh of Leadville and she survives him. Other survivors are a brother, Richard Mahoney, of Seattle. Wash ington; two sisters. Rose Boland of Glenwood Springs and Mrs. Blanche Holland of Denver-
