Katherine C. Currier, 90, Grand Junction, died June 5, 2017, at
HopeWest and Palliative Care Center.
Graveside services will take place at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial
Gardens Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at
the First Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Charles “Chuck;” two sons, John
of Glenwood Springs, and Paul of Rifle; two daughters, Connie
Martin of Lakewood and Christine Aduddell of Tacoma, Washington;
one brother, David Holland of Hooper; two sisters, Estalita Versaw of Center, and Lois Grooms of Houston; 10 grandchildren; and
11 great-grandchildren.

Katherine Currier went
home to be with her beloved
Savior on June 5, 2017.
She was born to Ray and
Marian (Speiser) Holland and
spent her childhood in the San
Luis Valley. She earned her
degree in Christian Education
from Southwest Baptist Junior
College. She gave up her
nursing studies to marry
Charles "Chuck" Currier in 1949. Together they farmed the
original Currier homestead in Grand Junction. In 1969 they
moved with their four children to New Liberty, northwest of
Mack. They retired to Grand Junction in 1995.
Katherine was active at First Baptist Church, teaching Sunday
school and serving in various roles. She had a passion for
missions and a hospitable heart. She reached out to others and
was always eager to set another place at the table. She hosted
many missionaries over the years. The nurture she gave her
family left a rich legacy. She loved her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
She enjoyed baking pies, sewing, viewing the
wildflowers in the desert, and watching sheepdog trials.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Chuck; daughters,
Connie Martin (Dave), and Christine Aduddell (Michael); sons,
John (Teddy Ann White), and Paul (Cheryl Flynn); brother,
David Holland; sisters, Estalita Versaw, and Lois Grooms; ten
grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 9 at Memorial
Gardens Cemetery. A Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 10 at First Baptist Church of Grand Junction.
