Orlenzer Stephen Maxson was born in Minneapolis, Minn., Dec. 31, 1862, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B. H. Bush, of Edwards on July 26, 1944. He came to Leadville from the east when he was a young man, where he followed his trade, that of a carpenter. There he married Alice Carteen in March, 1888. To this union there were 11 children born, two of whom, Orlenzer, jr., and Alice preceded their father in death. Mrs. Maxson passed away in Rifle in 1929. Mr. Maxson moved with his family to Gypsum in 1903, where he took up a homestead on Gypsum creek, and resided there for many years, where his nine children grew to maturity. For the past few years he had made his home with his daughter, Elizabeth Bush, and with whom he resided at the time of *his death. Burial was held in Glenwood on Saturday, July 29, with funeral services ieing held in Eagle at the Methodist church. Surviving, \ are his nine children, three of whom were unable to come to the funeral. Those left to mourn his passing are Leslie Maxson, Laura Balaty, Jesse Maxson, Elizabeth Bush, Ethel Miller, Wallace Maxson, Martha Russell, Leonard Maxson, and Edna Goll. Mrs. Goll and Leslie and Wallace were unable to come for the funeral. Mr. Maxson is also survivd by 26 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. V Mrs. Mike Hays and two daughters, who are visiting in Eagle from . their Denver home, and Andrew I Christensen were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman A. Stein Tuesday evening.
