Yvonne Wilkins, 68, of
Grand Junction passed away
on June 27, 2017.
She was born to Charles and
Mary Adamson on November
3, 1948, in Stratton, NE.
Yvonne spent her childhood
in Fruita, eventually
relocating to Long Island,
NY, where she married
Robert Wilkins. She was an
early childhood educator for over 50 years. She enjoyed
camping, fishing, and vacations to California and Las Vegas
with her husband. Yvonne also enjoyed Cowboys football, Elton
John, Michael Jackson, Jazz, and seafood.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert
"Bob" Wilkins, and her parents. She is survived by two sons,
Dale Shreeves (Roberta) of Torrance, CA, and Don Shreeves
(Sandi) of Grand Junction. Yvonne was a beloved grandmother
to six grandkids, Stevie, Sarah, Michael, Julia, Katie Jo, and
Rachel, and three great-grandchildren, including one on the
way, Lilah Lynn Rogers. She is also survived by brothers,
Chuck and Jim; and sister, Lana, all of Grand Junction.
Yvonne will be greatly missed by the children she taught, and
especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and wife,
a great teacher, an incredible friend, and the “Greatest Nana on
earth.”
Memorial services will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary at
10:00 on Monday, July 3, 2017.
