"I'm sure you did not pick up on this obituary. Martha & Eloy Medina lived in Red Cliff for years and years. Their children went to school in Red Cliff & graduated from Battle Mountain High School. Martha had a bad heart and could not live in Red Cliff any more and moved to a lower altitude about 5 years ago (~1994). Their son, Tom Medina, died in a fall off the arch bridge outside Red Cliff around 10 years ago. He is buried in Minturn. She is a pioneer of Eagle County.

Martha Medina was born June 13, 1925 to Severo and Sofia Valdez in Amalia, New Mexico. She died November 15 in Rifle, Colorado. A rosary service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eagle at 7 p.m. Wednesday November 17. A funeral mass will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday November 18. Burial will follow in the Battlement Mesa Cemetery in Battlement Mesa at 3 p.m. Mrs. Medina is survived by her husband, Eloy, of Parachute; her children, Larry (Alice) Medina of Red Cliff, Wilma Medina of Edwards, John (Jeannie) Medina of Battlement Mesa, LuAnn (Mario) Varela of Battlement Mesa and Roberta Medina of Gypsum. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
