Sharon LoRae (Purintun) Waddington, 79, Palisade, died
May 20, 2017, in Grand Junction.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Palisade Nazarene
Church.
She was a teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph; one son, Jon of Aurora;
two daughters, Kim Hilker of Fort Collins and Kay Harbridge of
Surrey, British Columbia, Canada; and seven grandchildren.

Sharon LoRae Waddington,
79, passed away on May 20,
2017 at HopeWest, after a 21
month battle with cancer.
She was born August 11,
1937 in Lexington, NE to
Floyd "Mike" and Lorraine
Purintun. She attended rural
schools and graduated from
Sumner High School in 1954. She attended Nebraska State at
Kearney in the summer and fall of 1954 and began teaching in
1955. She returned to Nebraska State and received her BA in
1958 just before the birth of her first child.
She married Ralph Waddington on August 25, 1957 and taught
school in Lincoln and McCook, NE. After retirement, she
worked as a sales associate in the Hallmark store.
Survivors include her husband of Palisade; daughter, Kim
Hilker of Ft. Collins; daughter, Kay (Phil) Harbridge of Surrey,
BC, Canada, and son, John (Monique) of Aurora, CO; seven
grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; several cousins, nieces,
nephews, two aunts, and many friends. She was preceded in
death by her parents; brother, Lynn, and several uncles and
aunts.
She was an active member of the Palisade Nazarene Church
where she participated in the Quilters Group. She enjoyed
cooking and raising flowers, especially iris. In her earlier years,
she enjoyed and was very good at bowling.
Cremation has occurred and a memorial service will be held at
Palisade Nazarene Church in mid June.
