TED MILLS DIED OF INJURIES

• Ted Mills, former Gypsum man died in Denver Sunday from injuries received in an accident at the Climax mine Friday. The accident occurred when Mills and another worker, Leonard Stegall were shooting hangups on the Stoke level. They had just finished preparing a shot and were In the finger Inspecting the Job before shooting It. Some large rocks fell out of the hang-up and the two men took separate paths of retreat to get out of the way. Stegall escaped, but Mills suffered broken ribs, with one rib puncturing a lung. He was treated at the Climax hospital, and recovered to the point Saturday morning that he was taken to Denver for further treatment. His sudden death Sunday was unexpected. Mills was a paratrooper during World War II and worked at Denver and Gypsum before going to Climax. He is survived by his wife, Lucille, who Is a sister of Mrs. Ed Watson of Sweetwater.
