Sam Moninger Buried in Glenwood Friday
We learn just as we go to press of the death of Samuel Vance Moninger , at the home of his daughter . Mrs . Floyd S . Chappel , west of Glenwood Springs , Wednesday morning , December 18 . Sam Moninger was one of tho most colorful figr . res of the early . days of Eagle coirjty . He came to Lgadville in 18 ? 9 ^ nt , in 1883 to Bed Cliff . Soon j after that 1 c , went over onto the Colo- 1 rado river vhere he had worked and attempted to dgvclop the placer ground along the the river almost continuously until a few moths ago , when oge and failing health forced him to retire . His health became so poor that a few months ago hand 1 Mrs . Moninger e moved to tho home of their daughter , where ho remained until death came Wednesday . Private funeral services will be held at 10 : 30 o clock Friday morning at the Farnura Chapel in Glenwood Springs . Mr . Moninger is survived by his widow and the one daughter , Mrs . Chappel , and two grandsons , all living at Glenwood .
